Get in Touch What We Offer

Expert witness work, properly supported

Medico-legal work offers experienced psychiatrists a stimulating complement to clinical practice — but getting started, managing instructions and maintaining quality can be daunting alongside a busy NHS role.

At Denman & Partners, we take care of everything around the expert work, so you can concentrate on producing high-quality, impartial psychiatric reports. Whether you are new to expert witness work or an experienced practitioner looking for a more organised and supported framework, we would like to hear from you.

What Denman & Partners offers

Everything you need to practise as a medico-legal expert — without the administrative burden.

Instruction Management

We handle all incoming instructions, appointments, correspondence with solicitors and third-party agencies, and manage your caseload — from initial enquiry through to delivery of the report.

Legal & Procedural Guidance

Our solicitor co-Managing Partner provides guidance on CPR Part 35, report structure, and court procedures — ensuring every report meets the standards required for its purpose.

Mentorship & Peer Support

New to medico-legal work? Our experienced partners provide mentorship, peer review and guidance as you develop your practice. You are never working in isolation.

Fee Management

We manage fee agreements, invoicing and payment follow-up. You focus on the clinical work; we ensure you are paid promptly and fairly for your time.

Quality Assurance

Every report goes through a review process before delivery. We check for compliance with instructing requirements and CPR standards, providing a second pair of eyes before the report leaves our hands.

Profile & Referrals

We actively market your expertise to solicitors and agencies, manage your profile and help build your referral base — so you benefit from our established relationships and reputation.

The right fit

We are looking to grow our panel of psychiatric experts across a range of specialisms. Whether you are an experienced expert witness or a consultant considering medico-legal work for the first time, we want to hear from you.

  • Consultant psychiatrists with active NHS or independent clinical practice
  • Specialists across all areas of general adult, forensic, and liaison psychiatry
  • Clinicians with expertise in eating disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions, personality disorders or psychotherapy
  • Those new to expert witness work who are willing to develop their practice with our support
  • Experienced experts seeking a more structured, well-administered framework for their medico-legal work
  • A commitment to impartiality and to the overriding duty to the court
